I’ve known Christian since day 1 of high school. Sat right behind him in Geometry (Bauman, Cagno…followed by Dietel, but that’s another blog) We started talking about the Beatles immediately and writing songs soon after. Years later after his army days he crashed on my couch in Hoboken for a while and fell in with the motley bunch to your right. We sang on my roof, at Maxwell’s at Don’s on Tuesday night “Folk & Fondue” series, crashed each other’s gigs and for a while we toured around the country in small cars and playing folk music and making tens of dollars under the collective name of Camp Hoboken. Good times. Some of the best indeed.
Nowadays, and for the past few years, he’s been writing novels instead of songs, and this week, Tuesday to be specific, #3 will be released with a party in the old neighborhood at Maxwell’s in the ‘ Boken where our old friend Don Brody of The Marys used to host the fabled ‘Folk & Fondue’ series and many a rolling rock met their intended.
I’ve been asked to provide some live music at the release party at Maxwell’s on 3/11 along with a bunch of our (and your) old friends from Camp Hoboken (Connie, Carol & Linda Sharar, Rich Grula & Christian himself) & special guest Perry Brody. We’ll be doing old songs, new songs, borrowed songs and blues songs…
