Well it’s sure ’nuff December. I had to scrape my windows this morning. Plus there’s a small fake tree ‘growing’ in my living room. Tell tale signs I tell ya…Also brought to you by December is the old guy countdown to 40…The cold weather has me thinking about a new hat…perhaps something with ear flaps. I think the closer you get to 40, the more you think about hats that keep your ears warm. An inverse relationship develops between fashion and function…I’ll keep you posted, or better yet I’ll wear the winner to a gig.
But that’s not what I came here to tell you about…I came to talk about the Kindle Cafe happening this Friday @ Rojo’s Roastery in Lambertville where I’ll once again be making music this week. It’s a community dining experience of delicious vegetarian/vegan food with fresh ingredients sourced 100% from local farms and artisans, offered by Chef Vincent Peterson and Carolyn Cohen.
I learned on his site that: the name Kindle Cafe comes from the ancient Indian science of well-being, called Ayurveda. In Ayurveda, your health depends largely on your Agni, or “digestive fire”. To process food properly, we must have a good fire going in our bellies. This is the mission of Kindle Cafe – to kindle your fire. The food is delicious and the company is lovely and the music ain’t bad either. Doors open at 7:30pm Reservations are required and it’s BYOB.
Treat your belly to a good fire…and for your ears, I’ll do one set of music starting at 8pm.
Last but not least, I’m thinking about John Lennon today as I have on this day every year since I was 9.
Mom let me stay home from school and listen to the radio and mourn.
That was a cool thing to do Mom, Thanks.
I’ll be singing some Beatles at Havana tonight to celebrate the music.
Peace out, GC
